Annual Assembly to Conclude Today - August 22, 2010
Almost 1,000 delegates were in attendance at the World Mission program at the annual General Assembly of The Church of God.

Assembly Program & Schedule

The following schedule outlines the events of each session. Those on program should be on the platform and ready when their time arrives. There will be reserved seating on a front pew. If you are unsure where to go, check with the clerks at the clerks' table. Pre-program singing groups, individuals, and musicians may begin your music and singing as early as you wish before the designated time, but should be finished by the official opening of each session.

The General Assembly will begin on Tuesday evening August 23, and conclude on Sunday afternoon August 28 at the conclusion of the afternoon session. Broadcasting of each session will begin following the preliminary music.

Facility Information

Ridgecrest Campus Layout In order to ensure a positive Assembly experience, it is important to become familiar with the Ridgecrest Conference Center campus and facility accommodations for this year's General Assembly. A campus map is available for download. Delegates are encouraged to print this map to become familiar with the Ridgecrest facility. If you need additional assistance during this year's worship services, contact an on-site usher or Ridgecrest Conference Center personnel who will be ready to happily assist you when you arrive on campus.

The doors will open daily at 8:00 A.M. and will remain open throughout the day until the evening session dismisses. The main activities will convene in the Spilman Auditorium. The locations of children's church, luncheons, and workshops will be announced during the Assembly. Delegates are encouraged to browse the auxiliary booths during session breaks in the auditorium lobby.

Worship Center Etiquette

Intense commitment is given to provided a fulfilling and edifying experience at Ridgecrest Conference Center during the General Assembly. Please take into considerations your fellow worshipers and remember the following rules. Do not bring food or drink into the worship center. Please do not loiter in the lobby or atrium while the Assembly is in session. Please refrain from leaving the service except when absolutely necessary. Please sit as close to the front and center of the worship center in designated areas. Be sure to set your cell phones or other mobile devices to silent during worship times.

Merchandise sales should cease while services are in progress. All tables and booths must be closed during that time. Individuals on program should be prepared to take the platform when their scheduled time arrives. A reserved seating area will be available for those on program. Thank you for your cooperation in making our Assembly worship experience a time of joyful fellowship.

Travel Information

Situated in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Ridgecrest Conference Center is located at 1598 Old US 70, Black Mountain, NC 28711. Ridgecrest is located 17 miles east of Asheville, North Carolina, on Interstate 40, Exit 66, approximately 30 miles from the Asheville Regional Airport and 18 miles from the Asheville Bus Station.

Facility Driving Directions

Ridgecrest Driving DirectionsGeneral directions are provided below. For more detailed directions, delegates are encouraged to use a service such as MapQuest or Google Maps.

1. From I-40, take Exit 66 (Ridgecrest).
2. Turn left (if traveling east) or right (if traveling west) onto Dunsmore Avenure.
3. Turn right onto Old U.S. Highway 70.
4. Ridgecrest is on the left.

Airline Travel

Asheville Regional Airport is serviced by several carriers including Continental Express, Delta Connection, Carriers ASA and COMAIR, Northwest, US Airways, and US Express. For more information, contact your local travel agent or visit Asheville Airport. Because the drive through the Blue Ridge Mountains is so beautiful, many Ridgecrest guests enjoy flying into airports in Charlotte, NC, Greensboro, NC or Knoxville, TN and driving the short remaining distance by car. This oftentimes is a more economical option as well as these larger airports generally offer discounted rates through the larger carriers such as Northwest, Delta, United, American, US Air and Continental.

Hotel Information

Ridgecrest Lodging FacilitiesOne of the many benefits of the Ridgecrest Conference Center is the ability to reserve lodging accommodations at the facility. This benefit will allow delegates to stay on the same campus as the Assembly auditorium and will significantly reduce the amount of travel required during the Assembly. Those who choose this option will be able to spend the entire Assembly at the facility which will allow for more time of relaxation and fellowship with fellow members of the Body of Christ.

This benefit will allow delegates to enjoy meals and fellowship on the same campus as the Assembly auditorium and will significantly reduce the amount of travel required during the Assembly. Those who choose this option will be able to spend the entire Assembly at the facility which will allow for more time of relaxation and fellowship with fellow members of the Body of Christ.

Meals can be purchased at Ridgecrest Conference Center. These meals served cafeteria style. These meals are all-you-can-eat and includes drinks and desserts. These meals must be purchased at the time of room reservation or at least two weeks prior to the General Assembly. Two or three meal per day options are available. In order to lower the cost of meals this year, there will only be one entrée, one vegetable, one starch, rolls, and dessert for the lunch and dinner buffets. Breakfast will consist of a normal buffet with fewer items.

Ridgecrest has several outlets: Coffee Shoppe, Eatery, and Ice Cream Shop that will be open various times during the Assembly for your enjoyment. Times will be announced during the Assembly. There are fast food restaurants as well as a variety of other eating establishments in the area for those who do not choose the meal options at the Conference Center.
